What the teachers say

The booklets have proved invaluable in supporting our delivery of PSHE/Citizenship to students across Key Stage 3 & 4. The information they contain is both relevant and accessible and directly supports the economic and financial awareness strands of the curriculum.

With the understandable increasing focus at a national level regarding the importance of financial awareness, the ‘Money Matters’ booklets are an extremely useful and powerful tool to support the delivery of the curriculum both at the planning stages and in the delivery of lessons.

In common with many families throughout the country, the current economic climate has had an impact on many of our students as parents find it increasingly difficult to meet financial obligations. The ‘Keeping to a Budget and Being Responsible’ aspects of the programme have been particularly helpful in giving students an insight and understanding into the difficulties many people experience, both directly and indirectly, as well as helping them to develop strategies that will prepare them to become financially aware both now and in the future.

Of particular importance is the way students have begun to understand when it is appropriate to borrow money, the sensible use of credit and credit cards and how to save and plan for future spending.

Thank you again for the support that you have provided.

Thank you for continuing to support our school with the ‘Respect Your Life’ programme, which continues to increase our student’s ability to think independently and increase their self-esteem and confidence.

Our Academy are delighted to be sponsored with the Money Wise financial literacy programme, to help put our pupils on the right path to financial understanding.

Again, a huge thank you for your invaluable support.

The Anti-bullying booklets have been an invaluable resource and has helped our children to understand the difference between bullying and teasing.

They have also learnt strategies on how to cope with the negative feelings associated with bullying and how to stand up to bullies.

The booklets have given the children the opportunity to explore their feelings about bullying in a safe environment, and how to express their opinions about how it should be dealt with in school.

Our school has a zero tolerance for bullying, that is why the booklets have been so valuable, as we will now use them every time we have to deal with bullying or perceived bullying.

During these tricky times, our school believes it is more important than ever to support students when it comes to PHSE topics.

The 'Money Wise’ Financial Literacy programme will have a very positive impact on our students to deliver key messages re finance provided by experts in the field. We would plan for the resources to be delivered on a weekly basis by the staff delivering PHSE.

Once again, I would like to thank you for contacting our school and hope that we can receive your resources throughout the academic year and indeed years to come.

The ‘Respect’ booklets and PHSE Class Activity packs have been an ideal resource in helping teach PHSE to our Key Stage 3 students.

The Respect programme has increased our students’ ability to think independently and increased their self-esteem and confidence. All Hallows places a strong emphasis on providing our students with a voice and to become accomplished in the running of our school with the aid of the material to compliment these aims. As part of our PHSE and Citizenship Course, work is spent on the attitude and general behaviour around the school and in the local community. The material included in the book extends this work further, as it empowers young people so that they might improve their own lives and those of others. The overall effect is that young people will be able to contribute effectively to society and therefore become ideal citizens.
